Why Tiny?

So, “why tiny” you might ask.  Well, I could go through all the many obvious reasons some may choose a tiny house:  no mortgage, save money, protect the environment, beat the system, to travel, or to live more simply.  However, I won’t bore you with those.  For me, honestly the number one reason we have sought the “tiny” lifestyle is because we can’t think of anything cooler than being able to use the restroom, pick out an outfit, and make a grilled cheese all at the same time!  Talk about efficiency!

Obviously, I’m joking so I’ll start by saying this, “going tiny” is most certainly not for everyone.  We made this decision because it was right for us during this season in our lives.  We are newlyweds who have burning desires to be debt free, live more freely, steward our finances well, travel the world, give back, own our home, and most of all we longed for an adventure.  Boy, did we get one!

There were a ton of unknowns when deciding to build our home, but were absolutely sure of one thing.  It could only be God.  We knew this because “going tiny” was my (April’s) idea, not Daniel’s.  If you know us and have experienced my crazy dinner gatherings full of place settings, décor galore, and my obsession with TJ Maxx, you would too realize that, “Yep, that’s got to be Jesus!”.   

Both, Daniel and I, are the type of people who run full force and head on into our dreams.  This “tiny adventure” was and has been no different.  It has opened up a flood gate of new opportunities that we are striving to be obedient in and a ton of new lessons that we are constantly learning.  We are happy to have you on the ride with us.
